The landscape is a big reference for my paintings. My work is abstract in nature I use colors intuitively, engaging in the moment. Painting becomes a conversation, a search of the unknown, where the elements in the painting create a sense of mystery and an open field for imagination.
I work primarily with oil paint and cold wax lately exploring mixed media on paper. Part of my process is scratching the painted surface, which exposes the layers underneath, bringing to life textures, shapes and lines.
Inspiration also comes from travels, hikes and the beautiful colours of my native country Bolivia. My family settle in Canada in 2003 and I’m currently living in Guelph Ontario.
I work as a full-time painter and maker and enjoying every minute of it.
